I am aware that there is a previous KudoZ question, answered by a very reliable, and much missed, former contributor. Nonetheless, I suspect that on this occasion his answer "mixing box" may have been wrong and that this may be an "airflow damping unit". I'd appreciate confirmation or correction from somebody with real working experience in this field.

The air distribution box may also be called a plenum (I saw this mainly in the US)

However a box with multiple entries may be seen as a distribtuion system, a silencer (an other side-effect), a pressure reducing system, an air-speed reducing system, a pressure regulator if it has dampers on its outputs, beacause it has all these features and one will call it according to the most important one perceived at the time
'mixing box' is only ONE function of SOME 'bdd's, as is variations on 'airflow damper unit'. Clearly, the term is being used in your context as a cover-all term, which will be very difficult to replicate in EN; you might have to resort to 'X, Y, Z, etc.'
