Spanish term

esquemas desarrollados

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Energy / Power Generation power generation P&I diagrams, codes for devices/components
For example:

Estos códigos deberán ser utilizados especialmente y obligatoriamente en los esquemas desarrollados, ya que facilitan la comprensión de la funcionalidad de los circuitos de mando y control.

And:

Estos esquemas son los esquemas desarrollados.

TIA.

Discussion

Giovanni Rengifo Sep 5, 2017:
@Neil Ashby Because "desarrollado" does not mean that. And "esquemas desarrollados" (schematics prepared) may seem redundant to you, but this kind of Spanish construction is commonly used (e.g. pagos realizados, días trabajados, etc.). In any event, IMO opinion there's actually no difference between "esquemas" and "esquemas desarrollados". They're referring to the same schematics.
Neil Ashby Sep 4, 2017:
Giovanni Why not? It could do. Obsviously it's not an equivalent but could be a relevant contextual translation.
esquemas = schematics
esquemas desarrollados = the same schematic (or part thereof) blown up to a larger scale.
Giovanni Rengifo Sep 4, 2017:
@Neil Ashby "desarrollado" has nothing to do with the scale.
Neil Ashby Sep 4, 2017:
Is there a difference in scale? It might just mean "blown-up/large scale schematic"
matt robinson (asker) Sep 3, 2017:
Thanks Charles. Yes, I understand it is widely used, and I have used schematic in other documents. The problem is the apparent contrast between esquema and esquema desarrollado. I will probably go with detailed schematic, although they all seem to be pretty detailed.
Charles Davis Sep 3, 2017:
@Matt It may not be clear to you from Phil's answer that "esquema desarrollado" is a standard term for a certain type of electrical circuit diagram in Spanish, as a Google search will show. It's not altogether easy to decide what to call it in English, since some sources treat "esquemático" and "desarrollado" as different types of diagram. However, from descriptions of "esquemas desarrollados" I think it's simply a more detailed schematic diagram, and I don't think we have another special term for it in English.

developed/detailed schematics

I don't think "desarrolladas" can mean "created", because it goes without saying that, as manmade objects, they have been created.
Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : Detailed schematic, or detailed schematic (circuit) diagram, is what I think you have to call this. A reference or two is needed here. The names of types of circuit diagram don't altogether match in the two languages. ("Created" is wrong, of course.)

schematics prepared

"desarrollados" here means "elaborados" o "realizados". It doesn't mean "detailed".
I think all schematics are actually "detailed".
Peer comment(s):

neutral Neil Ashby : Of course they've been "prepared" or else they wouldn't exist, your interpretation makes "desarrollado" redundant - I think the point of the asker's question is to distinguish between "esquemas" and "esquemas desarrollados"
