earth= "地(di4) 上(shang4)" "地(di4) 面(mian4)" "陆(lu4) 地(di4)"

I agree to Bin.
"earth" can be "the planet", "soil and dirt", "land, dry land","ground",etc.
In addition to "地(di4) 球(qiu3)", "earth" can be
"地(di4) 上(shang4)" for "ground"
"地(di4) 面(mian4)" for "the surface of the planet";
"陆(lu4) 地(di4)" for "dry land" (as to compare with "the sea" and "the sky")
"standing on the earth" may be translated into "站在地上/地面/陆地". It all depends on the content. Here I listed some of the meanings and usages in Chinese for your reference.
