Vision therapy -- a type of physical therapy for the eyes and brain -- is a highly effective non-surgical treatment for many common visual problems such as lazy eye, crossed eyes, double vision, convergence insufficiency and some reading and learning disabilities.
Vision therapy is a doctor-supervised, non-surgical and customized program of visual activities designed to correct certain vision problems and/or improve visual skills. Unlike eyeglasses and contact lenses, which simply compensate for vision problems, or eye surgery that alters the anatomy of the eye or surrounding muscles, vision therapy aims to "teach" the visual system to correct itself. Vision therapy is like physical therapy for the entire visual system, including the eyes and the parts of the brain that control vision.

Comment: "Thank you, Ségolène. I also like François' answer, but I like to keep a translation as similar as possible to the original, and I found that "orthoptie" translates exactly the technical term "orthoptics". Thank you all for your suggestions. "

orthoptie
Les troubles décrits semblent relever de ce que l'on appelle parfois par "hétérophorie", et qui surtout sont traités par "orthoptie". Voir sur la toile et à Wikipédia.
