When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Ja, das mit Indien ... ... ist verwirrend. -- In den USA steht "DS" u.a. für "Department of State". Weiterhin kann die Abkürzung für "Deputy Secretary" stehen.

Bisschen mehr Kontext brauchen wir schon, Nada.

stellvertretender sekretär / Untersekretär

Little more than a guess here, but I suspect "US" actually has nothing to do with the USA here.
I believe it means, instead, the seal or stamp of the DS or US of the (Indian) Department of NRI Affairs (not the US Dept. of...).
Guessing further, I imagine DS and US might stand for Deputy Secretary and Undersecretary respectively, hence my tentative suggestion of "stellvertretender sekretär / Untersekretär".

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of NRI Affairs has been renamed as the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, it was announced here on Thursday.

Official sources said with the renaming of the ministry, its area of operation would be broadened dealing with issues concerning Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) as well as all overseas Indians, including People of Indian Origin (PIOs).
