I ASSUME you meant English into German.
In any case, I understand the English to mean that they are not looking to correct problems that have occurred, but rather they are going to take the situation as it stands now and determine what they will be doing in the future.
From this, I would get that they are not looking to correct errors that they find. They want to determine what they can do with the data as is.
