interazioni proteina-proteina
Uno studio dell'UE sulle interazioni tra proteine tramite "crosslinker" fotoattivati:
Scientists are looking into the interaction between the G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) corticotrophin-releasing factor receptor type 1 (CRF-R1) and its peptide ligand Urocortin-I (Ucn-I).
Given the fact that class B GPCRs have not been structurally characterised, the results will provide invaluable insight into GPCR interaction with its ligands.
To this end, a photocrosslinker amino acid has been incorporated into various positions of the CRF-R1 to test for ligand proximity in the associated complex.
Researchers were thus able to locate the ***peptide-binding pocket*** in the activation domain of CRF-R1 at a single residue resolution.
