In un brevetto di un composto farmaceutico, in due punti diversi (entrambi due esempi del composto oggetto dell'invenzione), trovo questo verbo e non capisco che cosa si intenda:
"A suspension of potassium hydroxide (3.37g) in dimethylsulfoxide (80mL) was DROPPED BY the compounds prepared in Example 10 (5.12g) and a solution of 1,2-dibromoethane (1.74mL) in /er/-butyImethylether (20mL) at the room temperature and the mixture was stirred for 2 hours."
"A suspension of lithium aluminum hydride (217mg) in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran (2mL) was heated to the temperature of 50°C and then the mixture was DROPPED BY a solution of the compounds prepared in Example 11 (260mg) in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran (3mL) and stirred at the temperature of 80°C. Under the ice, the reaction mixture was added by ice and IN hydrochloric acid to be acidic and then filtrated by celite (trade name)."
...si potrebbe usare il verbo "ricavare"? O cos'altro?

Non ho mai sentito il verbo "drop" usato in questo modo, ma nel contesto potrebbe anche funzionare. Confidence level bassissimo...

Essendo molto specifico, non posso dirti che ne sono al 100% sicuro ma tutto colla se leggi un po' come avviene il processo di cristallizzazione.
"In chimica la cristallizzazione è una metodica utilizzata per purificare ed isolare composti chimici. La sostanza impura in oggetto viene portata in soluzione in poco solvente e viene sottoposta a riscaldamento." (wikipedia)
This results in the desired compound dropping (recrystallizing) from solution. The slower the rate of cooling, the bigger the crystals formed. (primo link)

Si tratta di una sospensione che viene lasciata precipitare, decantare mediante l'aggiunta di una seconda soluzione; la miscela di tutti i componenti viene poi fatta centrifugare.
