Como para confirmar, me gustaría saber si ustedes tienen la misma opinión que yo:

Cuando el texto dice que xxx enfermedad es la "sixth leading cause of death in the United States", a mi criterio, se omitiría el "leading" al traducirlo, es decir, simplemente se diría "es la sexta causa de muerte", pero quiero estar segura de no estar cambiando el sentido al omitirlo.

Me gustaría contar con la opinión de ustedes y/o propuestas sobre cómo traducirlo. Gracias!

Para que la frase quede "entre las principales causas de muerte... XXX ocupa el sexto lugar". Pero solo si quieres traducir "leading", a mí la opción que propones me parece muy correcta.
