is there any nickname that was given to Yeltsin in American/British press? like, for instance, Gorbatchev was "Gorby", and what about Yeltsin? and Putin? I recall hearing something about Bush calling Putin "Puty-Pou", or something, but I'm not sure.

Yes, President Bush likes to call President Putin "Pootie-Poot," according to the press at least. :-)

I can't recall a US/UK press nick for Mr. Yeltsin, though once it was mentioned somewhere his nickname in Russia was "Czar Boris" but I have no "evidence." :-)
