English term

hard equipment

Non-PRO English Other Other
"... the system has already been calibrated by the factory before being delivered. Users should not perform the calibration operation unless they change the **hard equipment** (such as lenses, CCD camera)."

It would help to ask an English monolingual question in English. This way, you will reach a much wider audience, because not all English speaking translators understand Italian. Or do they? :-)
Non-ProZ.com Nov 8, 2004:
answer No, it was meant to be an English>English question. I just wanted to know whether the use of the English term "hard equipment" was correct in that context (I'm editing a text but I don't have the original version in Itlaian - I just have to re-read it in English).

Should this be an English > Italian question instead of English monolingual?

Merci
agree jccantrell : lose the 'equipment' though. Hardware should be OK, everything you can 'touch'

Right
agree French Foodie : agree with hardware on its own
