French term

l’eau micellaire de carotte

French to English Other Cosmetics, Beauty
Hello,

I am having some trouble with a description of a face cream:

"Origines que l’on retrouve dans les composants de ses produits, comme l’eau micellaire de carotte ou l’huile de cameline. Associés aux feuilles de dattier du désert ils deviennent les actifs phares de la Crème Talentueuse. Un soin généreux pour nourrir et réparer la peau en profondeur, à appliquer sur le visage, les mains, et partout où le besoin s’en fait ressentir. Le rituel cocooning de cet hiver !"

I have found Carrot Seed Oil or Micellar Water or Carrot Milk Cleansing Lotion or Carrot Butter Cleanser. My instinct is to choose Carrot Seed Oil because this is an ingredient of a skin cream but then the cleansing aspect is lost. Can anyone help?

Thank you. :)

@ Jane Thanks - I didn't realise I could (still learning...) marginally less embarrassing!
Jane F Nov 25, 2014:
Spelling! You need to correct the spelling to 'carrot' in the glossary entry.
Claudia Vale (asker) Nov 23, 2014:
Thanks Marie Caroline. I think I'll stick to water and see what the client says!
Marie Caroline Upham Nov 23, 2014:
You could also try 'carrot micellar solution'

Medium confidence because its not my field but its definitely nothing to do with carrot seed oil.

For a bit of explanation:“Micelles are molecules that are made of fatty-acid esters,” explains Bernard Pochic, Montreal-based national trainer for Bioderma, whose micelles are of natural origin and are extracted from sugar. “When you use a cleansing pad, the micelles deploy,” he says. The composition of the molecules makes them brilliant at trapping and gobbling up makeup, dust and pollution. (I’ve got it: They’re the Swiffer of skin care!)

Don't worry you're not the only one. Apparently micellar water is the latest French thing and is spreading world-wide. Since it would appear to be produced from "sugars" and carrots are sweet my guess is that this is micellar water made from carrot sugars but since you don't have that information just leave it simple.
Note from asker:
Thank you, Jane! I have never heard of "carrot micellar water" and before today had never heard of "micellar water" but that is probably because I don't buy fancy face creams. ;) It could well be the right phrase though!
Thank you, Jane. :)
