French term (edited): doigts de gant visser

threaded thermowell

(or others along those lines).

Confidence medium because I'm not sure what they are driving at: it's not clear from context (for me) whether this "doigt de gant" is the type used on cables on the type used for housing instruments in vessels containing liquids, etc. , notably thermometers.

From my notes:

Doigt de gant Thimble (for cables, protects eye of loop; for pipes, provides (internal) soldered union for joining pipes of different metals; reserve (for tanks etc., e.g. test reserve for access for instruments), pocket, thermowell [BSI280 5017]
