French term

acte interruptif

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
Dear all,

Context is as follows:

La prescription est interrompue par la notification d’une proposition de rectification, par la déclaration ou la notification d’un procès-verbal, de même que par tout acte comportant reconnaissance de la part des contribuables et par tous les autres **actes interruptifs** de droit commun.

Please help me out if possible. Many thanks in advance. Chris.

acte I think that "acte" here is a document or notice, not an action. I've got trouble posting today, so I hope that this isn't visible lots of times!

interruptions

i.e. common law interruptions of the prescription.

I don't think "acte" needs to be translated here.

interruption of prescription act

or an act of interruption of prescription??

5.6 This Act provides for interruption of prescription in section 74V, which reads:

74V: Interruption of prescription

(1) In the case of any debt mentioned in the statement referred to in section 74A (1), prescription shall be interrupted on the date on which such statement is lodged and, in the case of any debt not mentioned in such statement, prescription shall be interrupted on the date on which any claim against the debtor is lodged with the court or the administrator

Hope it helps! seems to relate to debt and that a fairly literal translation *might* do! But can't be sure I'm only going on research here not my own knowlege!
