How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Daryo Jun 4, 2023: Context? By now I shouldn't be, but I'm still surprised by the number of "pros" who seem to be either blissfully unaware of the concept of "context" - or act as if "context" is no more than a nuisance to be ignored. I better stop now. Yes, it coud have been said jokingly, or mockingly, or with regret or as simple statement of fact, or as a question or ... We could play the guessing game to no end. But that's not the point of Kudoz.
Bourth Jun 4, 2023: I suspect this is said jokingly, in the same way that people (who DO know better) will say "Il faut que j'y vais" (like Jean-Claude Convenant in Caméra Café). It seems to me the literary form is incorrect, that it should read Il eût fallu que je vinsse, which underlines the humorous intent. As such, you need to introduce an error into the English, with something like "I should have cAme" which, by stressing the verb 'come' may evoke other interpretations ... Context is all.
