Discussion

texasweed Jun 9, 2009:
Can't agree with "under home confinement" What indicates that there's a form of detention implied here? My own son was once placed under home confinement. We appealed. He was then placed in preventive care in a psychiatric institution AND seeing a parole officer once per week. Both fall under "Judicial Review" on the pile of accumulated paperwork. He's now free but still must comply to judicial review. This is an ongoing story happening in the States. It just seems to be THE all-encompassing term when in doubt.
Michèle Voyer Jun 9, 2009:
I would write it slightly differently "submit compliance to judicial review" or "to a review by the courts". But that is a Canadian wording (maybe British as well) that 's why I would feel safer if we could find a European source.
texasweed Jun 9, 2009:
(The Judicial Authority shall) ensure compliance to (conditions laid down by statute.) The Statute in question talks about "Judicial Review" Decision 2008-562 DC Article 13, Canada. That would make it "ensure compliance to Judicial Review" non ?

subject to judicial supervision (or judicial review)

I think it is safe to go ahead with that, in the absence of further indications on the legal context.

placement under home confinement

See the refs. below.
As for "gestion automatisée" it should be translated by "electronic monitoring".
Another option for "contrôle judiciaire" could be "under/on probation", or "on parole".

In Canada "contrôle judiciaire" corresponds to "judicial review". But I am not sure it would be appropriate to use this expression here.

Did we not have a kudoz not too long ago about this electronic surveillance procedure, if I remember correctly someone had found a EU bilingual reference with the needed terminology.
Note from asker:
Thank you, Dear Michele, I saw this in GDT, but it cannot work here since the field in GDT is Finance. Nevertheless I found judicial supervision/ court supervised-release somewhere else, but I still would have liked to find out more about the whole phrasing of the terms.
