My text is in a CV "fiabilisation d’une brique technique", no more than that. It can mean an actual brick for construction, but it seems to be used to talk about an element (building block, component) in a process. "Un service technique sert de brique technique à un ou plusieurs services principaux", "Grâces aux cookies, des milliards de dollars de revenus publicitaires sont générés chaque années. De cette minuscule brique technique dépend actuellement la solvabilité de sociétés comme Facebook..." there's also "brique de service" ("Gestion du portefeuille de services (support aux experts Net Center pour transformer une brique technique en une brique de service") I don't think it's a terminology issue, more a matter of finding something creative that would cover the two terms. suggestions appreciated

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

aspect in addition to your component, element etc. You might be better off using several solutions, instead of a one-word-fits-all approach to 'brique'.

thank you - hard to select one answer as better than the other as so much depends on what works in a given context, but looking at the quotes I had I felt that module might work better for 'brique de service'
