German term

organisierendes Gesetz

German to English Law/Patents Law (general)
This in reference to a law concerning notaries, and the actions take place in Belgium. To make matters more complicated, this is originally a Dutch document translated into German that I am now translating into English. So the trick is to come up with something in German that may not exist in Germany (or the US)!

Is it a sort of (to use contractual terms) frame or boilerplate law?

Discussion

claudiocambon (asker) Nov 13, 2008:
clarification This is an amendment to a company's by-laws, which are being drafted by a notary. Other than that there isn't any relevant context. Here is the phrase in German referring to the notary's notifying the shareholders present of this law:

Die Erchienen erkennen, dass der Notar sie auf die besonderen Verpflichtungen, die dem Notar gemaess Artikel 9, Par. 1, Absaetze 2 und 3 des Organisierenden Gesetzes Notariat auferlegt sind, hingewiesen hat....

Can you provide surrounding German text please? Also, what is the context in which the phrase appears? - a Court summons, a law report, a text book, a letter........?

Peer comment(s):

agree Ken Cox : although it's an Act in this case, probably 'la loi du 25 ventôse an XI, contenant organisation du notariat' (French) or 'wet van 25 ventôse jaar XI, tot regeling van het notarisambt' (Dutch), as amended
