German term

Portionsbeutel

German to English Tech/Engineering Dental Investment Material
"Portionsbeutel an der Schweißnaht aufreißen und möglichst staubfrei in den Anmischbecher einfüllen."

From instructions for a dental investment material. In this case, the Portionsbeutel contains the investment powder.

I realise this word has been asked about before, but I'm still not sure about it, and the dictionaries are most unhelpful in this instance. Eurodicautom may or may not have something, but I'm getting the maddening "No more connections available" message that appears on there all too often.

Is there a ready English equivalent for this word that I could put in the ProZ glossary? TIA for your assistance.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you for all your great suggestions. I wish I could give each of you four points! But after checking the various suggestions on the Web for frequency of use, "portion pack" was the winner by far. "Portion pack" was one of the suggestions given by Gisela, so I'm awarding the points to her. But my thanks again to you all for your assistance."

sachet

depending on the size (sachets are generally quite small)

packet

Here's a link that might help:
http://www.vanr.com/taf/vanr.taf?f=product&prodid=4490

They use the term "unit-dose packets", which might work for your text.

Here\'s another suggestion, for what it\'s worth:
\"Preportioned packages\"

http://www.dentaurum.com/eng/Zahntechnik/pdf/gebrauchsanweis...

Hope this helps!

On a side note, \"package\" sounds too large to me; I\'d go with \"packet\" or \"pack\", frankly. However, I don\'t know how much investment powder the Portionsbeutel contains.
