Italian term

architetti specificatori

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Architecture
"Il 90% degli architetti specificatori sono fuori dal paese."
(elsewhere):"Caratteristiche del mercato: grande concentrazione studi di architettura che specificano in tutto il GCC."

From a powerpoint presentation for a design company looking to develop a market presence in the Middle East. The company establishes relationships with local managers for local projects, and also with local architects and dealers in these countries.

Are these "specialised architects/studios"? I'm unfamiliar with the word "specificatori/specificare" in this sense.

Thanks,

Peter

specifying Architects

OR
Architect specifiers (note capital A in english, as a legally protected name).
The term tends to be used mainly by building materials and products companies, to distinguish them from customers (contractors) who actually place the orders with them. They also use the expression "Architects and Specifiers" to include Engineers and others who might prepare specifications including their products.
(I am an Architect)

agree philgoddard : Yes, but architect doesn't have a capital A. It's not a proper noun or a tradename.

Italian term (edited): architteti specificatori

detail architects

I haven't capitalised "architect" because I'm staying faithful to the original.
