Tech/Engineering

valves, power stations
In a tender document about valves for power stations.
The only context I have is this:
superficie interna della camera treccia: (radius 1.6)
circolarità camera treccia: 0.1mm
I know it's a part of a valve... but that's all.

Packing: The sealing system normally consists of a deformable material such as graphite. It is usually in the form of a split ring. Packing material is compressed to provide an effective pressure seal between the fluid in the valve body and the outside atmosphere. When valves are properly maintained, they should remain in service for many months without gland leakage. It is important not to pack the rings too tight, as the rings are subject to high pressures and temperatures and need some room to expand and contract.
