Italian term

c

Italian to English Medical Medical: Cardiology -
Sequacor 1.25 1 c ore 8
This is a list of medicines for home therapy. Other entries are cp – tablet, and busta – sachet, but I’m stumped on what c is.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

silvia b (X) Dec 30, 2005:
ops - scusa, avevo trovato una scheda del farmaco da cui sembrava che fose commercializzato solo in compresse rivestite
Jo Macdonald (asker) Dec 30, 2005:
Hi Silvia. Yep I tried that, looks like both capsules and tablets http://www.farmaplanet.it/farmacodetail.asp?minsan=034952349
Same sort of results for the other medicines.
I dunno.
silvia b (X) Dec 30, 2005:
puoi controllare se i farmaci a cui si riferisce "CP" sono venduti in capsule o compresse - il sequacor e' in compresse rivestite
Jo Macdonald (asker) Dec 30, 2005:
I think cp is capsula/capsule and c is compressa/tablet. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks.

Jo Macdonald (asker) Dec 30, 2005:
Thanks guys, but if c is compressa tablet, what is cp then? I thought cp was compressa tablet.

The list goes like this:
1 cp
 cp
1 c
1 cerotto
1 cp

capsule

cp=compressa
perchè ¼ cp = ¼ di compressa

perciò c=capsula

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Yep thanks Science, this answer makes sense, I can’t imagine a doctor prescribing ¼ of a capsule. So cp is compressa, and c is capsula. Thanks to Silvia and Anne for your help. Jo "

tablet

il sequacor e' un farmaco in compresse rivestite, quindi dovrebbe essere una compressa da prendere alle 8

C = calorie, capacitance, carbon, cathodral, cathode, centigrade, clearance, compliance ......... aso
Peer comment(s):

disagree Nicola (Mr.) Nobili : If it meant "centigrade", there would be a ° after the figure.

disagree Catherine Bolton : I seriously doubt that they chill the capsule before giving it to the patient! Your answer makes no sense.
