Italian term

lacerato in corrispondenza di

Italian to English Medical Medical (general) cancer staging
This is part of a description of a histologic examination of a sample of lung tissue.

I can translate 'lacerato' as torn (or torn off?) and 'in corrispondenza di' as at, by, next to ... but I don't really know what would be the correct way to phrase this segment since I don't understand what the Italian is describing.

Thanks for your help!

laceration/tear neighbouring a

-oppure, bordering/adjoining...

Ciao, Claudia. Grazie mille.
agree Lirka : I'd use 'adjacent to' rather than neighboring or in proximity. Docs love it.

laceration by

Laceration is used in medicine terminology...
also in corrispondenza di simply can be rendered as °by° as it convesys the cause of laceration..
Note from asker:
Thank you for your suggestion also, sachin. In this case, the 'by' would be used to convey location or proximity.

Note from asker:
Ciao Lionel. 'A livello di' = spesso at/near/in
