Italian term or phrase:filo piazzato
**Realizzato in tesuto jacquard tinto in filo piazato per la parte superiore** I'm not sure if this is the means of weaving or it it means that the center of the quilt has a particular design in the center. Any help is appreciated
Wouldn't this "sfumatura centrale" confirm your first interpretation of "piazzato"? I've never heard of "filo piazzato" as a weaving technique, and google yields 0 results for the phrase. A "copriletto piazzato", for instance, is a quilt that has some sort of motif and/or profile that fits over the flat surface of the bed.
See also this definition:
I'm not sure jacquard piazzato is exactly correct. At first I thought it had a central motif but further on I found **tessuto a panelli di elevatissima fattura. What do you think?

You have been very helpful. I have used your suggestion for the central motif
