Definition of "piazzato" Wouldn't this "sfumatura centrale" confirm your first interpretation of "piazzato"? I've never heard of "filo piazzato" as a weaving technique, and google yields 0 results for the phrase. A "copriletto piazzato", for instance, is a quilt that has some sort of motif and/or profile that fits over the flat surface of the bed.

filo piazzato I'm not sure jacquard piazzato is exactly correct. At first I thought it had a central motif but further on I found **tessuto a panelli di elevatissima fattura. Il fondo del tessuto ... è stato studiato per riprodurre l'aspetto di una finta garza. La parte più iportante è la sfumatura centrale in seta realizzata con cinque colori tinti in tono** therefore I think the filo piazzato is, in fact, a weaving technique. What do you think?
