Please, how does "دستگاه اطلاعات" different from " سازمان اطلاعات"? I think the contrast may shed light on the meaning.

if you admit the different is minute, you should not have used disagree button. the asker has the right to choose any of the answers and if he chooses mine or yours or any other answers, it doesn't mean the others are incorrect, he simply chooses the most "helpful". again, what I meant was that you should use the button properly and read kudoz rules. thanks and good luck

First of all I;'m not trying to get a translation job because fortunatly I have got a regular job; I just answer the questions for the fun of it. And dont forget that a neutral answer means that the answer can also think about your answer. this is while I'm sure that the difference (though minute) matters. Wish you lock. And one more thing: I disagreed with you because of the minute difference between the two terms, but you and your friend disagreed because I disagreed.

If you check the disagreements in the Persian community, you would admit you are using this button a lot and your comments are not objective. it was just a humble reminder that when you disagree, you should be quite objective or use Neutral button if you are not sure about sth. thanks

To Mr Ebrahimi, Just take a look at your answer to the question "How many...", H have agreed with you because it was a good anwer. You see, I don't have a grudge against anybody. I just want to help the asker because when sb asks a question, he/she needs the best answer. Don't forget, we are professional, so don't get upset when you get a negative mark, coz life goes on.

these terms can be used interchangebly in Farsi, I have noticed you like to disgree with others with some subjective comments; at least to be fair you can use neutral button or come up with objective comments for the answers you tend to disagree with

As a professional I don't need to do so. Let the asker decide. As she has mentioned, there is a slight difference between these. I don't have a grudge against anybody. But remember that the asker needs a clear answer. That's all I can say.

Intelligence apparatus.

The term دستگاه اطلاعات is actually a general and combined reference to various departments of intelligence working in/for a country. In English we say Intelligence apparatus. But the other term is an inference to a specific office of intelligence such as CIA or FBI when we use this term we either finish the sentence by adding the acronym at the end or it's understood from the context which intelligence agency he/she is speaking about.
Example sentence:

The enire intelligence apparatus of the United States rose to action to...

FBI is one of the top intelligence agancies in US. or CIA is one of the agencies working in the intelligence apparatus of USA.
