Castle again. There would also be absolutely nothing wrong with saying the "plaintiff's attorney". Also, the attorney for the other side is usually called "attorney for the defense", not the "defendant" as I said.

This is the usual phraseology, along with "attorney for the defendant".
I've seen plenty of courtroom dramas like everyone else, but have also been in some real courtrooms, and this is the way it's usually said.
