in automotive area, it seems the "Other CAT-Tool" is needed, what is this, is it something internal to automotive area or some thing that is yet to be agreed upon for this project. I work with almost all CAT-Tools and know a bunch others, but this is unknown to me. Brandis

Their own CAT tool Mar 13, 2006

The outsourcerer mentions "their own CAT tool", which could mean anything from "the CAT tool that we bought" to "we have developed our own CAT tool".

I suggest you contact them and ask them what they have in mind.

Sonja

the poster said "reported working experience with "Other CAT-Tool" you do not have" , so I just started wondering what this possibly could be. Brandis

See my answer above Mar 13, 2006

Dear Brandis,

If it is the advertisement I think you mean, it says "Other CAT tool" in the advertisement itself, but, before you click on it to open it, it says "IBM Cat tool" - which is the reason for my answer above.

but I think Sonja is in a way right, this could be some tool as per mutual agreement or their own tool. Brandis

Well, when someone posts a job on ProZ, here are the options:
DejaVu
Fusion
IBM CAT tool
J-CAT
MetaTexis
Multicorpora
OmegaT
Other
Other CAT tool
Passolo
Powerpoint
QuarkXPress
SDLX
STAR Transit
TRADOS
TransSuite2000
Uniscape CAT tool
Wordfast

IBM TM/2 (Translation Manager) is included in the list above.

There are many possible options for the category of "Other CAT tool".

Similis
WordFisher
King Memo
Heartsome
Multilizer
T-Remote Memory
Eurolang Optimizer
Zeres
ForeignDesk
Infograffiti ProMemoria
ALPNET Joust
LANTWORKS TM
TransType (by RALI)
TR-AID (by ILSP)
Mneme (by Logos)
Sun Microsystems Translation Editor
Caterpillar Translation Memory Tool (TMT)
PROMT Associated Memory
SYSTRAN built-in TM

Not all listed immediately above are/were publicly available, and not all are still currently licensed or supported.

There are certainly other custom versions that I've forgotten or missed.

Also a new authoring memory tool:
Sajan's Authoring Coach (AC)

If we're speaking about the same project, this is a CAT Tool developed internally by this agency.

Hi, I don't think we could say it was forgotten since the post was made on 13 March 2006. The first press release on the Sisulizer site (www.sisulizer.com) seems to have been released on 8 June 2006, and the welcome message in the Sisulizer support forum (www.sisulizer.net) is dated 8 Apr 2006.
However, there is certainly no problem adding it to the list. I've heard of various other TM clone applications that have appeared since then as well.

Jeff
