Hello!

My client sent me a document and the TM and information about the matches.
I would like to check if the information is right.
How can I do to calculate the matches with a document and a TM?

Thanks

Please read the documentation Apr 15, 2008

Dear Marion,

I strongly suggest that you read the documentation that came with your software, so you get a general overview about how these basic functions work.

Kind regards,
Erik

Tools / Analyse Apr 15, 2008

In Translator's Workbench.
Make sure to open the relevant TM.

Oh well ... Apr 15, 2008

when in danger or in doubt,
run in circles, scream and shout.

Here we go:
i) Download TM and the file to be translated
ii) start TWB using the TM supplied
iii) go to analyse and select the file(s) to be translated
iv) press OK

The file with statistics will be created and you can check it against the supplied statistics. All this is much better described in the TWB help - look for (what else) "About analysis".

My 2 cents: the stats will be EXactly the same as supplied by the client. So what's the problem in the first place? Your first order for TRADOS? Congratulations - fast mover.

Documentation is installed with your software Apr 15, 2008

Marion,
Accepting a job without being familiar with the tools required doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

The documentation (including tutorials) is installed with the software (Start - All Programs - Trados 7 - Documentation).

What do I have to put in Log file? (which path)?

Wherever you want the log file to be stored - it's your choice.

Best regards,
Ralf
