Αυτό που πρέπει να προσέχει κανείς σ' αυτές τις περιπτώσεις είναι η διαφορά ανάμεσα στο πρόθημα inter- και το πρόθημα intra-. Χοντρικά το inter- είναι between, "δια-", και το intra- είναι within, "ενδο-". Έτσι, intergovernmental είναι between two or more governments (διακυβερνητικός) και το intragovernmental ενδοκυβερνητικός.
