I can picture what this would be, but don't know how to say it. An individual mini-casserole? In this case, it is served as a snack during the coffee break at a conference:

"... le café est servi par xxxx dont les machines donnent du vrai café italien, pendant que la société xxxx fait déguster d'admirables petites cassolettes, du foie gras et même des grands crus."

Finally I am giving some points to Jonathan because I used "mini casserole". "Cassolette" probably would have been fine too, but in English I could only find it referring to the dish, not the contents.

Explanation:
According to the Food Lover's Companion, the word exists in English, and as a culinary translator I have indeed seen it used in many recipes (a yummy one that comes to mind is Cassolette of aubergine!). I think it would sound more appetizing in your translation "tasting delicious little cassolettes, foie gras, etc.

Here, it's clear of course that they are talking about the food served in the dishes, rather than the actual containers themselves! Without more details of the ingredients, it's very difficult to know quite how to express it, since we simply don't have in EN (AFAIK) an equivalent generic term for this kind of food item.

I think my solution, while bland and non-committal, is about the only sort of way you are going to get round it. Note that the added 'gratin' might not be strictly accurate in a culinary sense, but I think it would at least give people a better idea of the kind of thing to expect.

disagree  Tony M: Probably inadvisable; the sggestion seems to be that these are 'little', i.e. 'individual' ones, while the word 'casserole' conjures up a thumping great Le Creuset; 'casserole' as a type of dish (rather than cooking pot) might be OK, with qualification
