BODY STENCIL
GUIDANCE NOTES FOR USAGE
The stencil has been designed to raise awareness of specific transportation-related risks and hazards among drivers and pedestrians.
How do I use it?
What do I need?
To use the stencil you will need:
• To identify a place where you wish to draw attention to a transport-related risk.
NOTE: This could be a place where a transport-related incident has occurred previously or an area that is considered a high risk or where there has been a high potential incident (HiPo). The risk need not only be vehicle and people segregation. It could involve any transportation risk where there is the potential for people to be harmed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sensitive to any loss of life or serious injury. In such cases:
-- Discuss your intentions with your site general manager.
-- Liaise with the family of the victim.
• The stencil
Download the stencil from the Transportation Safety Portal and print at actual size.
• Paint
-- Try to use a colour that is bright (red or yellow for instance) and a paint that is fit for purpose and will withstand the weather and, if being painted onto a road surface, that will withstand traffic.

No matter the intention, a stencil is a mark or drawing intended to show something.
