This is from a review of an art exhibit. The phrase between asterisks seems odd to me and I would appreciate any suggestions.
La textura, el volumen, la anécdota, la sorpresa combinan para producir una asombrosa totalidad que envuelve al observador en *una confusa, aún concisa,* historia de un lugar, un pueblo, o un evento.

I chose this because I like "puzzling" rather than "confusing" because the latter is so negative and this was a positive review of the exhibit.

Explanation:
Hi Jeanne,

I think we have to allow for a little poetic (and translating!)license here ... how about 'envelops the observer in a confusing, albeit concise history of a particular place/location,(...) I think maybe the author is doing a little word play with 'aún'...Just a suggestion!

Saludos!

chaotic yet self contained

Explanation:
I believe the "confusa" refers to the volume and diversity of different elements that compose the exhibit and the"concisa" tells that in spite of that, it covers all the aspects that tell the story of the place, in a summarised way
