Russian to English
Art/Literary

children's literature
Те между собой ругались, а этот их, стало быть, оборвал: let's get down to business, мол.
Please help!

: Super! Jack, I hate doing this but is it OK for chidrens' literature? Just a question.

Thank you. It's comparatively modern, but I think it is acceptable.

Thank you. Time to cut the crap and get down to the nitty-gritty? No, I don't think that would do.

: This would fit perfectly for smth. like "pora delo delat', a ne prosto govorit' (o dele zhe)". Note "THE talk". The idiom refers to someone who doesn't put his money where his mouth is. In the context at hand, however, they are "talking some other talk".

: Skip the 'the' between talk and talk or it sounds too much like you're talking about someones' style. Like: 'He can talk the talk, but can he walk the walk?' Still is good though!

Можно сказать - stop rambling, we have work to do

: too down-to-earth, you're just explaining. It doesn't really sound like a phrase more like an explanation!
