Hi experts,

When I try to analyze a file to know the number of fuzzy matches and repetitions etc. in TS 2015, I get the report in xml format which is difficult to read. I want to obtain the report in MS Word or .txt format. Is there any method to do this? I'd appreciate if you could explain it step-by-step if this exists at all.

Thanks and regards,

Chopra

xlsx or pdf Dec 27, 2015

Hi Chopra,
When saving a report, you can choose Excel format. Alternatively, you can 'print' your report as pdf.

However, I would like to add two more questions to experts:
1. Trados accumulates pairs of reports (Analyze Files + Pre-Translate Files). Is there any option to select a number of reports at once?
Holding 'Shift' does not work. So far I have to delete those 32 reports one by one. Is there any workaround for this?
2. Even though I chose English as

2. Even though I chose English as my Trados interface language, some windows appear in Russian.
Why?

Thanks for your reply but... Dec 28, 2015

I can't locate the button to choose Excel format in the interface. When I select Analyze and click next, I get the following as report:

I pasted here the xml content which was received by me in the Report folder but since it did not appear here, I have deleted it.

As you may see, it is very difficult to understand it. I tried to insert the screenshot of interface to know the location of button to save the report as Excel or print it as PDF but in vain. Could you please tell the reason? I have the following options for settings:

1. File types
2. Embedded content processors
3. Verification
4. Language Pairs
Translation Memory
Term bases
Batch processing
Analyze files
Fuzzy bands

I tried each and every option, but could not find the button or option to save the report as Excel or print it as PDF. Am I missing something. I'd appreciate if you could guide me.

Thanks and regards,

Chopra

Thanks for your reply but I can't find those 5 buttons... Dec 28, 2015

which are on the top of the screenshot posted by you, i.e. Print, Print Preview, Page Setup, Save As and Delete. These are not available on my interface. Could you please tell me how to access them? I tried but in vain.

Thanks and regards,

Chopra

To see these buttons you need to be in "Reports" in the bottom lefthand corner.

When you see the buttons, click "save as" and choose the file format.

It's a Windows thing Dec 28, 2015

Hi Stepan,

Most software on the market uses the built in functionality of Windows. Many functions such as Print, Save, etc are the ones provided by the operating system and therefore appear in th OS language. I would therefore assume that your computer has a Russian OS.

Thanks Dec 28, 2015

Hi Ben,
Thank you for confirmation.
Not a big deal of course, but I found it weird. Now it makes sense.

Thank you very much for explaining it. In addition to your suggestion, the following video also proved helpful:

Had they explained these things in manual, one would not have bothered others for such trivial issues.

Thanks and regards,

Chopra

How you have inserted the screenshot in your reply? Dec 28, 2015

A picture can explain the things which thousand of words can't explain. I tried to insert my screenshot by clicking print screen (PrtScrSysRq) button and then pasting it (Ctrl +V) in reply window but could not insert the screenshot.

Could you or someone else tell me the method to do so?

Thanks and regards,

Chopra

Hi, Chopra
It doesn't work this way.

PrintScreen -> Open Paint -> Ctrl-V -> Save as... *.JPG -> Attach/link.

Hi Albert,
It works like that but you're missing the second part:
The .jpg file then has to be uploaded somewhere - to a public Dropbox or One Drive link, or to an image hosting site such as tinypic or photobucket.

Chopra, when you have the http link, then follow the instructions here for "Adding Images":

As Excel Jan 2, 2016

You can save the report as Excel (xlsx). Isn't that good enough? In Excel you can do all sorts of maths on it.
