Thanks Tina, I had great fun with these original signs.

"having fun prohibited" Jul 31, 2008

My favorite was a sign at a tourist attraction in Guizhou that said "having fun prohibited."

Among the instructions I translated Jul 31, 2008

for the Beijing Olympics was the following:

Do not exceed your visa date as you may be fined or thrown in jail...

Why didn't we think of that when we hosted the games four years ago?

Restaurant Jul 31, 2008

I think this one beats everything else... Seems like some restaurant owner (Chinese characters say "restaurant") wanted to save money and used an online translator... which in addition had some server problems at that moment

Wow! I really need to go to that place (as soon as I feel it's the time to go to China)! Where is it?

Great, those Olym-pics! Jul 31, 2008

My Casio-pics are not so funny, I have to admit.
Maybe I'd change to an Olympia camera.

I can't imagine people from countries where they call a plate of french fries for hours in a row not moving a single mill "fastfood" winning any metal, so taking pictures probably is the best bet for them to leave any impression.

As for me, no I'm not taking part in the olympics. I'm that sportive that I didn't want to rob other sportists from any change to win.
