Hello / Kalimera,
I was wondering how the phrase "The cruelty of war" would be said in Greek? It is probably a common phrase or expression in many languages because it is so true. I know that Spanish has 'La crueldad de la guerra' .
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Brian Costello

: Να σου ευχηθώ "Καλό φθινόπωρο" με neutral; Ωραία η φράση "η φρίκη του πολέμου", αλλά σε επίπεδο ακρίβειας αυτό είναι "the terror of war".

Comment: "Thank you very much Emmanouil Tyrakis for your answer. My thanks also to anatolia 1 for his answer.
This one was hard to vote on; virtually a coin toss. Both answers seem to be correct based on peer review comments and research that I've done on the internet. I suspect that "I skliro'tita" is formal or literary Greek while "I frjkaleo'tita" ("ghoulishness; grousomeness") is more colloquial.
Yet, I like to know what colloquial equivalents are too and consider them valuable because they are often hard to come by. Therefore, I gave the edge to Emmanouil but I am really pleased with both answers.
Sincerely,
Brian Costello"

There are many ways to translate this phrase. Cruel should be litteraly tranated as Ωμός.......other variations could feet depending on the context
