The meaning is obvious, but I don't think the expression "counter season" really exists in English, and I am struggling to find something not too long winded.

Searching some more I have reached the conclusion that Dan\'s right and off-season is used with vegetables and perhaps out-of-season with fruit.

: this was my first thought, but 'out-of-season' has a slightly negative implication and wouldn't therefore be used by vegetable importers/growers etc to flaunt their wares!

: I actually think off-season is more negative than out of season :) - off-season sounds like a bad season bad beans :) - out-of season (not bad)is seen from the local point of view- Counter season is the jargon term based on opposing hemispheric climates
