Explanation:
From the first link we have: "... to urge us to every step within our power in order to avoid hell as an eternal dwelling place".

When we speak of long term residence, we ususally call it a dwelling, which would apply here since eternal would be certainly a long time. The references here merely chosen as examples and not in any way necessarily a reflection of conviction. But then, in this context Judaism, Christianity and Islam are of course quite similar.

Sakhr also puts dwelling as a meaning of مثوى.
