Okay, hi guys! I get that Stör means jamming or interference, but what does the latter half of the compound word mean?

@ Johannes Dein Englisch lässt leider keine positiven Schlüsse zu: "You had to enter" ist beim besten Willen kein Englisch! Du bist auch kein Moderator, der mich zurecht weisen soll ... und alle Einträge können "zu Fuss" geändert werden. Davon abgesehen gebe ich zu, dass meine Antwort etwas zweideutig war. Gruß Stephen

It wasn't frequency as a regular occurence or repetition, but the Frequency when we consider radio transmissions and the like.

@ Simon interference is used mainly for electromagnic disturbances, and rate is the adequate term for "Häufigkeit". Frequency is a regular repetition, but this is not the case with your subject, where the disturbances or failures are irregular.
By the way, you should have give us the complete phrase for evaluation, as the term may change from subject to subject. Inference may be used in some cases, in other other cases it is better to speak of failures, disturbances, or errors.

@ Stephen Please do not enter "typo for Störhäufigkeit" into the answer field. This can be explained below. You should have to enter "interference frequency" instead of, in order to enable automatic glossary entries.

By the way, the specialists do not use "frequency", but "rate" in this context, as proved by my special dictionaries, see my annexes.
