Orthopaedics - leg fracture
Good evening
I am doing an urgent translation about a man with a fractured leg and would appreciate some help with this phrase. "Resin plaster cast" does not get many convincing medical hits.
Here is the context:
Parallement au traitement chirurgical, un traitement orthopédique par un platre en résine est institué pour quarante cinq (45) jours.
Thank you for any help!

resin cast
Bonjour Liz,
I think they're just using the word "platre" as a synonym for "cast". Therefore, a "resin cast" should be sufficient.

Regardez les exemples suivants:
"Where little swelling is anticipated in a stable fresh fracture, a resin cast may be used from the outset."
"Particularly for tight fractures, the resin cast is very thin, and thuseasily deformed and torn. To avoid these problems, a thicker layer of resin ... "
"Then, we put a resin cast to immobilize the wrist - it serves the same purpose as a plaster cast ..."
"stable fractures : an orthopaedic treatment (plaster or resin cast cover the wrist and the first phalanx of the thumb) is usually indicated. "
