I need the meaning of "ponctuel" in the following sentence:
"Pour tout remblai ponctuel d'un volume compris entre 250 et 500 metres cubes, l'Entrepreneur aura à sa charge les essais correspondants. Au dela, les essais seront effectués par tranche de 500 metres cubes.

Remblai is apparently 'backfill or' filling' here, often used to strengthen an embankment but in your case, it may be to block the flow of water

Ponctuel seems to mean that it is added periodically

this is the word I would use in this context.

thanks Chris. Yes, I usually translate 'ponctuel' as ad-hoc but I think that 'one-off' works better in this particular context... :)
disagree B D Finch : Not one-off, they would be adding backfill from time to time as the works progressed.
