French term

jouer le jeu

French to English Other Human Resources
Recruiting Agency procedures:

Pour nous permettre de toujours améliorer laqualité de notre prestation des enquêtes de satisfaction sont organisées tant auniveau des clients que des candidats. Nous vous demanderons de continuer à jouer le jeu avec nous!!!

I doubt I should be saying "continue playing the game", it makes it sound not serious. I'm thinking cooperate maybe.

Discussion

RHELLER Aug 20, 2004:
Teresa, are you pulling my leg? I guess I am not the only one who is gullible :-)
Non-ProZ.com Aug 20, 2004:
to Rita: "Fill in this questionnaire, and you can win a brand new Vice-President position. Comes with its own secretary, expense account and an office on the top floor. Act now!"

cooperate is ok

here they are referring to filling in the evaluation forms (a lot of people just throw them out)
perhaps there is a prize?

it is common to use incentives to get people to actually return satisfaction questionnaires,

\"play along with us\"

\"play the game\"

playing the game

It is obvious that they are making this recruiting effort into a game-like pursuit in which you can "win" a vp job. Go with the flow use "plying the game". French recruitment agencies are notorious for the way they advertise positions. Take a gander @ Le Monde's wanted page one of these days.
Peer comment(s):

agree Anthony Chalkley (X) : "jouer le jeu" has just the same nuance(s) as "play the game" in English
