: There is no real difference in any "canonic" slang. Diff authors use different terms. For me, "правила" reads better.

Как ни прискорбно, но и "кэширование" и "политики", и "политики кэширования", равно как и "политики скрининга"... прочно и однозначно вошли в программерско-хардверный лексикон. Люди просто не поймут, если попытаться сгладить эти "корявости". BTW(особенно, если делать єто без понимания сути дела).

: You can say политики, just like you can say правила. There is no profound diff-s in Russian usage. Policy is not a program! It's a set of values controlling how a program runs! You don't adjust/tune/etc. programs unless you're developing them.
