English term

owe

English to Spanish Bus/Financial Finance (general) Memorandum - Investment Fund
OFFERING PRICE

Class A Shares shall be initially offered at $25,000 (U.S.) and Class B Shares shall be initially offered at $30,000 (U.S.) per share. On the last Business Day of each calendar semester the directors of the Fund shall determine the offering price applicable to all of the Dealing Days within the following calendar semester.

The above notwithstanding, the owners of the first 100 issued by the Fund will have the option to buy the same amount of shares they * owe * until 31/12/2014 at the same price they had originally paid.]

Could this be a typo? To me it makes no sense, but then of course, this is NOT my area of expertise. TIA!

Discussion

Phoenix III Jul 18, 2014:
@ DrRyan I disagree. The text clearly states: "will have the option to buy the same amount of shares". Meaning if John Jones originally bought 10 shares, on the last business day of each calendar semester, he will have the option of buying another 10 shares at the stipulated price set by the Fund directors.
Candace Holt Ryan Jul 18, 2014:
In Spanish it would be: el mismo número (la misma cantidad) de acciones que ya posee (tiene)
Phoenix III Jul 18, 2014:
@ John I agree with titulares. Please post your answer so we can all vote for it.
Mónica Algazi (asker) Jul 17, 2014:
Andy, Can you suggest it as an answer, please?
JohnMcDove Jul 17, 2014:
I agree... Andy should probably suggest it as an answer? I.e. "de las que son propietarios" "que poseen"... "de las que son titulares" o lo que suene mejor... Saludos.
Judith Armele Jul 16, 2014:
Exactly, own. :)
David Hollywood Jul 16, 2014:
So in total agreement with Andy
David Hollywood Jul 16, 2014:
Has to be "own"
Mónica Algazi (asker) Jul 16, 2014:
Thank you for confirming it, Andy.
Andy Watkinson Jul 16, 2014:
"Own" - they have a right to buy the same number of shares they initially suscribed.

own

My guess is that if they are being offered additional shares at the original price the word should be OWN.

This being the case, the Spanish would be "el mismo número de (la misma cantidad de) acciones que ya posee (que ya tiene)".

Gracias, José (aunque parece confirmarse que se trata de otro error tipográfico en el texto original).
