agree  RHELLER: http://www.lipower.org/redbook/chapter3.html " It is imperative that the customer/contractor also supply LIPA electric load information in order to insure proper design of its facilities prior to construction"

  -> Thanks. Not exactly the design of facilities, but prepare the supplier for their requirement, and decide on the size of connection required.

agree  Derek Smith: seems to be informing the electricty co of the potential power draw so that they can size their spur line accordingly

  -> Thanks. Exactly.

wrote a stinker to the NY electric co.

Explanation:
Here is the meaning of the term load letter that I found on the net (the link is given below):
to beat up, verbally or physically, poss. as a result of repeated failures or errors in judgement.

So probably it means that the architect wrote a scathingly critical letter to the NY electric co.

neutral  RHELLER: sorry, but this movie reference does not apply to the electric company

  -> You are probably right. This just came up in a google search and I put it up thinking it might be useful to others. I myself have never heard the phrase "load letter".

disagree  Charlesp: you are entirely wrong
1 hr
  -> You are probably right. the actual phrase is "pc load letter" whereas the question is about "load letter". Probably juvera is on the right track. I just gave it here because it came up on a google search.
