agree Jennifer Levey : "One of the functions ..." (not "A function of...")

agree Charlie Bavington : if indeed it later becomes clear (since the fragment posted doesn't clarify) that it is indeed solely ONE function being described, then yes, this is more natural. If it should turn out to be a set of functions, I wld go with the other.

functionality

"functionality" is used with practically all software.

Examples:
"Payroll software functionality"

"If your interest is in a particular area of functionality of this project management software, select a button below"
http://www.projectperfect.com.au/pa_functionality_menu.htm

"Functionality" can be used not only for multiple functions but also for one function only - Examples:

"Neoteris has added a functionality to Version 3.3 of its Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE) gear that attempts to prevent critical corporate data from falling into the wrong hands as well as to protect the corporate network from infected remote machines"
http://www.networkworld.com/newsletters/vpn/2003/1006vpn2.ht...

"Add a functionality through which the recipient profile can reject a particular add or delete friend request."
http://www.cogs.susx.ac.uk/courses/wbc/labsheets/assignment2...
Peer comment(s):

disagree Jennifer Levey : 'funcionality' implies a reference to multiple functions but the source text refers explicitly to just one function: "**Une** fonctionnalité de l’application ..."

"functionality" se réfère également à une seule fonctionnalité - http://www.networkworld.com/newsletters/vpn/2003/1006vpn2.ht...
agree Charlie Bavington : Absolutely, and if the asker puts the word at the end, as in all your first examples, then it works fine (indeed, translating many of those examples into Fr could well give a structure of "Une f. de xxxx")

feature

This term in FR is often used to translate 'feature' in EN, so doing a bit of back-translation, this could be the word you are looking for!

It all depends really how it is being used, and what they go on to say...
