French term

agent de passage

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering power station construction
This appears as a description in a plan of rooms set aside for construction of a new power station. Google appears to suggest that this is a person who facilitates the movements of passengers and baggage in an airport, but this obviously doesn't apply here. The adjacent room is "cadres de passage". Any ideas?

Who wants to post this as an answer? I'm being hassled to close the question.
chris collister (asker) Oct 20, 2011:
Thanks Bourth & SJLD, that's a great relief: I translated this as "visiting staff/ managerial staff" and the client hasn't yet told me it's wrong!
Bourth (X) Oct 19, 2011:
Visiting for me to. Somebody there temporarily or very temporarily.
philgoddard Oct 17, 2011:
SJLD Yes, could be.
SJLD Oct 17, 2011:
de passage passing through - visiting
cadres de passage - visiting managerial staff
chris collister (asker) Oct 17, 2011:
It's certainly a plausible hypothesis, but the location of the room gives no clue as to what its function might be. What might then be the purpose of the next room, the "cadres de passage"?
philgoddard Oct 17, 2011:
This came up in Spanish to French, and the Spanish was "agente de trafico", traffic agent. That might work - someone responsible for logistics and vehicle movements.
chris collister (asker) Oct 17, 2011:
No, sorry, that's all there is: a drawing of a lot of rooms, one of which is labelled "agent de passage"
philgoddard Oct 17, 2011:
Do you mean it's a room on a plan, occupied by a person whose job title is "agent de passage"?
