calculating a fish's area of occupancy
Hi all,
This is from a document in Canadian French about the banded killifish. This specific sentence is about calculated the fish's area of occupancy using "quadra." I've never seen this term before and am having a hard time. Any ideas?? I think it involves quadrature....
zone d’occurrence = extent of occurrence
zone d'occupation = area of occupancy
Thanks!

quadrats

Voir transect.

quadrat = quadrat
Définition :
A small, clearly demarcated, sample area of known size on which ecological observations are made.
