This is the title of a person (I assume; forgive me if I'm wrong, hence why I'm posting this question!!) who works at an investment bank. "Les activites de trading via des automates n'echappent pas a l'obligation d'avoir prealablement obtenu un Trader ID specifique pour traiter".

The term "robot" should IMO be avoided, as it has inescapable cyberman-type connotations in English... I believe this is simply talking about automated trading systems.

agree writeaway : with 2 minutes difference there is no way you could have seen the added-on suggestion, which doesn't refer to a system anyway-it refers to activities.

You could also rephrase the sentence using something like robot/automated trading activities...

One imagines that an automated trading system might deploy any number of distinct trader bots (each with its own Trader ID?).
