French to English translations [Non-PRO]
French term or phrase:secretaire comptable
This is a job description - no other context I'm afraid. I wonder whether it could be translated as "Girl Friday", ie someone who does odd jobs around the office. Could someone please confirm or otherwise?
Explanation: I apologize for also suggesting in the negative, but we as translators have some power in shaping language and "girl friday" bears a sexist connotation. I would favour book-keeping secretary.

Explanation: would be the best English equivalent. "Girl Friday" is a phrase which, thankfully, is disappearing (and also refers to a position with much less responsibility than Accounting Secretary!). -- HTH, HC
